About Us

Wayland Millwork has been in operation for nearly 60 years, starting in a two car garage and quickly becoming one of the leading residential millwork and door suppliers in Eastern Massachusetts.

1959
William Ishkanian, founder of Wayland Millwork Corporation, started the company to provide a one-stop source for home builder’s window, door and millwork needs.
1964
After 5 years in the business, Wayland became an industry leader in the area by purchasing one of the first automatic door machines in New England.
1969
Wayland Millwork again led the industry in providing low cost, high quality doors and windows to affordable housing projects in the area, laying the groundwork for the mission his company still strives to maintain today: high-quality products at affordable prices.
1973
Wayland Millwork continued to lead the industry by being the first in New England to introduce embossed metal doors to their line of products.
1987
The torch was passed from first generation to second generation Ishkanian. Williams’s son Paul, a dedicated employee of Wayland Millwork took over the company and continued to maintain the precedent of high quality products his father set 18 years prior. He oversaw the reconstruction of the facility after a devastating fire, which is the building Wayland Millwork is still housed in today.
2011
Jumping forward 25 years of steady business, Jim Grunow, a home-builder and commercial project manager since 1988, steps in as a partner in the business. Jim’s construction experience as well as his 25 years as a Wayland customer brings a renewed focus on servicing the professional builder’s needs. Wayland’s expanded product line now includes vinyl windows, hollow metal doors and frames and commercial hardware.
